Original wood burning on a 21.5" x 13.5" inch live edge cherry, accented with genuine copper leaf.

Inspired by the places that I often seek solitude, reset and to feed my curiosity of the forest, this original piece is appropriately named after what it is, my Sanctuary. I hope that it can be yours too. 

Small details have been hidden throughout the piece for you to discover. To capture the essence of a forest at golden hour, copper leaf has been carefully placed, woven between the trees and illuminating elements scattered throughout. 

This piece has been finished with non-toxic, water-based polycrylic to ensure the integrity of the artwork and the wood. 

Dimensions are measured edge to edge of the wood including bark. As this is an irregular shaped piece, the dimensions vary. This piece tapers at the top, the bottom being the widest width of 13.5 inches and the top, the narrowest part, measuring 12 inches. It is 21.5 inches in length. 

Included with the artwork is a keyhole hook installed onto the back, as well as a hand-signed Certificate of Authentication from the artist. 

Hardware for hanging not included.

Images are high resolution and have been taken to showcase the artwork as accurately as possible. Variations of colour and texture may differ slightly from your screen to real life.

Upon purchase of this piece, please allow 3-5 business days for Hannah to pack your order and prepare for shipment.

Delivery via Canada Post within Canada can take up to 1-7 business days, US orders deliver in 5-10 business days, and International can take 1-3 weeks. 

Some countries have strict policies on live edge wood being imported. If you do not see your country listed at check out, please email hannahveiga.studio@gmail.com and we will research into your country's customs policies.

Hannah generously covers shipping costs internationally for original artwork. Hannah Veiga Studio is not responsible for any additional duties and/or taxes incurred upon arrival of your order. 

Returns & Refunds:

All original art is final sale. If you wish to view more images or videos of the artwork prior to purchasing, you may contact Hannah via email with inquiries. Please note original artwork cannot be put on hold. 

If any damages occur due to courier mishandling, please email hannahveiga.studio@gmail.com within 24 hours of receiving the order to report damages. Reports of damage after this 24 hour period will not be compensated.

Process

All original and custom art is diligently designed, drawn and hand-burned by pyrography artist Hannah Veiga. She has spent years honing her skills as an artist and practicing the techniques she uses today to render distinctive compositions inspired by the nature that surrounds us, giving sustainably sourced wood a second life as unique works of art.

Each piece of wood is cut and sanded by Hannah up to a super smooth 320 grit to create the perfectly primed surface for burning. Using a state of the art wood burning system, the artist yields heat-controlled metal tips to manipulate burn marks into an intricate, hand-drawn design.

A UV protective finish is applied to nourish the wood and ensure the integrity of the artwork.

Specifications

The wood used is raw-cut and live-edge, kiln dried to a low moisture reading and then sanded up to 320 grit by Hannah.

Dimensions listed are in inches, measured from edge to edge of the wood including the bark. If the piece is square or rectangular, measurements will be shown as Height x Width x Depth. For round pieces, measurements are displayed as Diameter x Depth.

Each piece is finished with a hook on the back, appropriate to hold the weight of the piece. Hardware for handing is not included. For heavier pieces over 5lbs it is recommended to use a drywall plug/anchor.

Shipping Information

Please allow 5 business days for Hannah to prepare the order for shipment - this timeframe also includes application of desired sealants and drying time. (For custom artwork, this shipping timeframe begins once the artwork is completed).

Shipping within Canada can take 1-7 business days, USA orders 5-10 business days and International orders up to 3 weeks. This may vary based on time to get through customs and cannot be guaranteed. Shipping of original artwork may not be available to your country doe to customs restrictions; for example, Australia has very strict guidelines on import of live edge wood, which does not allow me to send original or custom artwork. If you do not see your country at check out, please contact us.

Care Instructions

Always handle artwork with freshly cleaned and dry hands. Keep artwork away from food/liquids as all pieces are made as decorative pieces, not intended for food or outdoor use unless otherwise stated.

While all pieces are sealed with a UV protective finish, it is still recommended that you choose a spot to display in your home so that the art is not exposed to direct sunlight for prolongued hours of the day.
