About Pyrography Prints

The Process

These high-quality giclée prints are made using archival inks on premium paper or matte canvas. This ensures vibrant, long-lasting colour and detail, providing you with as close to a true-to-life reproduction of the original artwork as possible.

Paper prints are rendered on archival quality fine art paper, which is subtly textured to provide a more tactile experience to bring you closer to the feeling of having an original wood burning. This paper is acid-free and lignin-free, ensuring that the prints remain vibrant and intact over time without fading or yellowing.

Canvas prints printed on premium matte canvas. Canvas prints are acid-free, OBA-free, and have a neutral pH and white point, which ensures consistent, accurate colours with no yellowing over time.

Specifications

All dimension options listed are in inches measuring from the edge of the design (not including white border)
Paper prints are only available as rolled and come with 3/4" of white border.

Rolled Canvas prints come with approximately a 2" white border similar to the paper prints. Only the stretched canvas or framed stretched canvas options come with the 1.5" mirror wrap (extended wooden edges for cohesive look).

Stretched Canvas prints come stretched on bars with a 1.5" mirror wrap which provides the cohesive wooden appearance all around, you can also order a framed canvas, which will include the 1.5" mirror wrap with a floating frame in either black, white or natural.

A hook is installed on the back of stretched and framed canvases for easy hanging.

If you prefer to manage framing or stretching of your canvas yourself, please order the rolled option. However, please note: Only the stretched canvas or framed stretched canvas options come with the 1.5" mirror wrap. If you like the look of the extended wooden edges on the stretched canvas, please order the stretched or framed canvas option. Otherwise, rolled canvas will come in the standard print format pictured above with thick white borders.

The Story of Synchronicity

Taking a moment to be still in my surroundings

This piece was directly inspired by hike I went on with my mom. I had been wanting to create a piece that had barn swallows in it for a while now as throughout the year (2024) I had been graced by couples of them swooping in front of me. I didn't see the barn swallows on this particular hike, but they had come by on other walks spent with my mom, as if giving a little reminder of the beauty we can see if we just stop and stay still for a while.

When we pause for a moment, we notice it all

How everything has a purpose in the place it's in, interacting with eachother, directly and unintentionally

Fungi grows from fallen trees from summer's storms, the birds collect branches and hibernators gather food from the same trees to keep full. Butterflies pass to say goodbye before the winter solstice creeps up and in their path they encourage new growth for the following season, the salmon swim upstream and the bears take the opportunity for an easy meal.

Insight to the creative process

I had the idea for this project in my head for a little while, and with the snow blanketing the forests I decided to finally start drawing from my memories of the transition from fall to winter, the little fragments of green and shelves of mushrooms stacking themselves on logs.

Everything has been free-hand drawn and burned using my wood burning tools on a salvaged maple round.

This piece evokes the wonder of the woods and the reminder it has to offer, that every path we carve and every footstep we leave, has an impact in ways perhaps unseen for now but that which will grow into place when the moment is right. Sometimes the vision of whats coming into place becomes a little clearer when we let our selves be still and notice.
