"The Slow Reveal"

28.5" x 26.5" x 1.75" live-edge maple original woodburning

Meet The Slow Reveal, the first original wood burning of my limited series, "Coming Into Bloom".

I wanted the Slow Reveal to embody everything that signals the very first signs of spring, which to me, are beacons of hope.

Winter, while beautiful in it's own ways, can be hard to endure both emotionally and physically. Maybe we're in different hemispheres and winter happens at opposite times of year and feels a little warmer than the north, but nonetheless, we all go through a season that dims our sunshine a little.

Emerging throughout this piece are some very resilient species - snowdrops, crocuses, morels, fiddleheads, bluebells, and more. I put a focus on the snowdrops for this one, accenting them with white watercolour. These flowers teach us how to endure, how to push through. They have their own eternal heating system that melts the snow around them, persevering through frigid drops in temperature while radiating hope. Not only are they signs of warmer weather on the way, but they're telling us, gently, you can survive this too - there is so much beauty to come.

The Slow Reveal is an original woodburning on a 28.5" x 26.5" x 1.75" live edge, salvaged maple sourced locally here in Ontario. This piece has been sealed with non-toxic, water-based polycrylic to ensure the integrity of the artwork and the wood.

Included with the artwork is a keyhole hook installed into the back of piece for easy-hanging, a hand-burned signature and title on the back, as well as a Certificate of Authentication from the artist. Hannah offers free international shipping on all original work.

Dimensions are measured edge to edge of the wood including any bark. Images have been taken to showcase the artwork as accurately as possible, however variations of colour and texture may differ slightly from your screen to real life.

Upon purchase of this piece, please allow up to 5 business days for Hannah to prepare your order for shipment.

"Through this piece, it has been unveiled slowly, parts of me that have been waiting to be found

Laying dormant through the winter months of my life where things were cold, dark, foggy

Holding me through the times I wanted to curl up in the darkness

But the air is getting warmer, the breeze is filled with the scent of new beginnings, comfort and hope

With the forest floor awakening beneath the melting snow, shedding old habits to discover new growth

I'm able to see clearly more than ever, who I am through the unravelling

Through the Slow Reveal"

Process

All original and custom art is diligently designed, drawn and hand-burned by pyrography artist Hannah Veiga. She has spent years honing her skills as an artist and practicing the techniques she uses today to render distinctive compositions inspired by the nature that surrounds us, giving sustainably sourced wood a second life as unique works of art.

Each piece of wood is cut and sanded by Hannah up to a super smooth 320 grit to create the perfectly primed surface for burning. Using a state of the art wood burning system, the artist yields heat-controlled metal tips to manipulate burn marks into an intricate, hand-drawn design.

A UV protective finish is applied to nourish the wood and ensure the integrity of the artwork.

Specifications

The wood used is raw-cut and live-edge, kiln dried to a low moisture reading and then sanded up to 320 grit by Hannah.

Dimensions listed are in inches, measured from edge to edge of the wood including the bark. Measurements will be shown as Height x Width x Depth.

Each piece is finished with a hook on the back, appropriate to hold the weight of the piece. Hardware for handing is not included. For heavier pieces over 5lbs it is recommended to use a drywall plug/anchor.
